I love to torture Poppy. This is payback for her insisting on sleeping in our bed. Under the covers. On my legs. Spoiled rotten for sure.

Driving home from work. This picture would be better if I could jump up and down, do the moonwalk or the MC Hammer. I love coming home from work and being lazy with the kiddos at home.

Cuddling with Stephen while tucking him in. Every night it's always the same. Change into pajamas. Go into the living room to retrieve his pillow and blankie. Brush teeth. Get his cup of water. Sometimes he requests a book. Just when I'm getting up to leave, "Mom, you lay down 5 minutes?" I'm a sucker for it every time. I asked if he'd take a picture with me tonight and he yelled "Make funny faces!!!!". How could I tell him no?

BABY FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love them. Besides, our Target started carrying Babylegs, much to my checkbook's dismay and Sammo got a new pair yesterday. It was wicked hard not to scoop up every pair there and make a dash for the checkout. I thought better of it and decided to leave some for other Target moms. Although, I'm willing to bet they won't take off here and I'll be able to scoop them up on blow out... Wishful thinking! At any rate, this pair had skulls on them and we all know that skull items always find their way into my shopping cart.

Family couch time. Today we joined our YMCA so that I can get my workouts back and the kids can have some fun. Both Stephen and Sam had blast in the pool today. I realized that I'm going to have to shart shaving my legs in the winter again. *snort* We came home and I crashed out for a few hours. I really do look forward to the weekend where we have nothing much to do but spend time together as a family.

Friday night wine night. Mmmm. We made dinner and just enjoyed eachother's company tonight. I love having family dinners. Sometimes I'm happy that Scott doesn't drink wine. I don't like to share it.

I am in a piss poor mood today. So rather than photograph something that will communicate just how annoyed, hurt, frustrated or isolated I am feeling, I took a picture of my feet. My long monkey toes. If there is one skill I hope to pass on to my children, it would be picking up random items with their toes and hurling them across the room. There. My secret superhero power is out of the closet. Word.

What an awful day for me. Emotional outburst after emotional outburst has left me drained this evening. Every time I got Sam down for a nap today, the dogs would bark and wake her up again. Or the phone would ring and wake her up again. Or a customer would come over and wake her up again. Or mom would slide a dining room chair over the tiles upstairs right above my office and wake her up again. Each time her nap was interupted, her crank levels rose. Ugh. Just Ugh. It's time like these that make me wish I didn't have to be at work and I could just be at home to nap her when it is needed. Mom was not at work half the day because it takes her hours to pick up posters from the printer. Riiiiiiight. Scott tried to make me feel better but I wouldn't let him. I couldn't and I hate that. All I wanted to do was sit at my desk and feel miserable.

Floor time is serious business around here. Apparently, I have serious babies. Gee, I wonder where they get that from...

*sigh* I can't wait for spring so I can take this project outside. I loathe winter in the midwest and I'm tired of hiding away indoors. Matter of fact, I blame the ice and snow for my lack of humor lately. Curse you, snowy winter! Damn you, icy conditions! I've had my fill.

I love my job. The thing that I love most about my job is that I can bring my kids with me. I love that I can take a time-out from work to snuggle Sam or play trains with Stephen.

Sammo is feeling under the weather today, though you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her. The fussiness, the mass quantities of poopy diapers and the red cheeks are signs that perhaps suggest teething. All I know is that I feel awful that my poor angel is not feeling well and I'm hoping this passes. If it is in fact teething, we'll need to buckle our seatbelts and hope that this is over as quickly as possible. Doubtful, but I like to dream big.

Happy Anniversary to us! A year ago today, I married the best friend I've ever had. While this past year hasn't always been rainbows and puppy dogs, our love has made us stronger. We have two beautiful children, a roof over our heads and a dog that tries our patience. We're celebrating tonight by having dinner at the Gun Club in Beloit and a quiet evening at home. Sam will be joining us for dinner as leaving her at grandma's last weekend was enough leaving her for quite some time. I love my husband. Always. He loves me too. Even when I'm angry.

"Come what may, I will love you, until our dying day."

Work. Work. Work. Work has been consuming lately. The phone never stops ringing and I always have a pile of artwork looming on my desk. I wish I had a clone to do my work while I lay on the couch eating bonbons and watching Oprah.

Ah, well. It's nice to dream but I find it better to be busy than broke.

Happy Valentine's Day. Stephen was really into it this year. We made "Vawentine's" for family and mailed them out. He really loved cutting out the paper and making a supreme mess of our dining room table. Stephen was very excited about his "Vawentine's" up until we slid them down the mail slot. He became distraught and demanded we get his "Vawentine's" back. I tried explaining to him that we do not keep Valentine's for ourselves, but we share them with others. He did not love this idea and expressed as such. An older gentleman at the post office couldn't help but smile as we were leaving. I continued to laugh even after a 30 minute silence Stephen would exclaim, "We have to get the Vawentine's back!" Scott and I exchanged cards and boxes of chocolates which was muchly appreciated. I was tired of attempting to diet anyway.

Tattoos. Love them. I need more of them. They are an addiction for me. Plain and simple. I want to go big. Add on to my back piece? Half sleeve? I'm not sure. I am sure that I need another one... and that I want swallows. And koi. And the kids' names hidden in somehow...

Today my baby girl is 4 months old. It was another dreaded shot appointment. I loathe those visits. It's all I can do to sit in the chair and cry while Scott holds her and attempts to comfort my crying babe. No mother wants to hear her baby cry like that. Sam was a trooper though. Seconds after the third shot she was laughing again. She ended her visit with one final glare at the nurse as if to say, "When I'm old enough to run away, I'm going to make you work for these."

Her latest trick. Balancing for all of 3 seconds before toppling forward. I can't believe she's not my teeny tiny newborn anymore. I'm in denial that she'll be 4 months old tomorrow. I'm looking forward to her crawling, walking, talking and all of the other milestones coming in the next year. However, I'd like her to stay this small for a little while longer just so I can soak up her sweetness. The gummy grins will soon be replaced with teethy smiles and she'll be uttering "Mommy, I do it myself!" just like her older brother in no time. I love the independence and hate it all the same.

Baby fever all over again already?

Check!

The great Sambino in yet another adorable hat I just had to have for her. I never in a million years thought I would love having a daughter so much. She's such a happy baby and we are truly blessed to have her. When it comes time to do her hair when she's older, she's screwed. My dad had to curl my hair when I was younger because I am uncoordinated when it comes to girly things. Sam will have to be a linebacker at heart, through and through.

Reba & Kelly concert. Scott is in luvr with Kelly. If I did not exist, Scott would probably spend his days writing her fan mail describing his neverending adoration for her. The concert was amazing even if there were no mosh pits, mullets or anything else that I might identify with the types of rock concerts I'm used to. It felt nice for just the two of us to get out and be a couple again, something I haven't felt in a long time. I missed our babes so much and couldn't wait to walk through the door at my mom's to scoop Sam up.

I adore the relationship between my kids. Stephen loves his little sister and really enjoys interacting with her. He's always wanting to hold her, hug her, kiss and love her. He calls her "Amanta" and tells everyone that she's his baby sister. Sam loves watching everything he does and I can see her thinking of all the trouble they'll cause once she's mobile...

Beginning this with no pressure. I have enough pressure in life. I'd like to have a year of beautiful pictures to look back on and remember our little family.

I'll commit to taking a picture a day. I don't like pictures of myself enough to make them all of me. My kids are far more adorable anyway.
